The Election Commission of Bhutan, under Section 196 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, hereby announces that the Notification calling the elections in (1) Gelegphu Thromde of Sarpang Dzongkhag, (2) Phuentshogling Thromde of Chhukha Dzongkhag and (3) Thimphu Thromde of Thimphu Dzongkhag shall be issued on 25th of December 2015.
All those wishing to contest the above elections are reminded to prepare the necessary documents set out under the Laws which shall be required once the elections are called and the nomination process starts. It is also reminded that the Dzongkhag Thromde Tshogdes of the above Dzongkhag Thromdes will continue to be in office during the Election Period. However, an elected incumbent official wishing to contest the elections shall be required to have demitted office to participate in the nomination process and thereafter.
