The Election Commission of Bhutan started, today, the training programme for the Electoral Officers who will be deputed on election duty for the Fourth Parliamentary Elections: National Council, 2023 as Returning Officers, National Observers, Legal Officers and Media Arbitrator. The programme will be held from 14th -15th of February, 2023.
The programme is being presided over by the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner and attended by Election Commissioners, officials of the ECB and representatives from the other stakeholder agencies.
The objective of the training is to educate them on electoral laws and most importantly orient them on the strategies prepared to hold the Fourth Parliamentary Elections: National Council, 2023.
The Returning Officers, National Observers, Legal Officers and Media Arbitrator have a vital role to play in the conduct of elections and it is imperative that they are conversant with the Electoral Laws and thorough with the election process in order enable them to discharge their duties confidently and effectively.
