The Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB), as per the provision enshrined under Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, hereby declares the result of the Bye Election for filling the vacant post to the Local Government.
The Election was conducted in Samtse Dzongkhag for the position of Gewog Tshogde Tshogpa with the poll day on August 15, 2024.
The name of candidate who has been successfully elected is as follows:

The overall voter turnout detail is as follows:
1.Tading_Tenpaling Chiwog under Tading Gewog, Samtse
Of the 536 registered eligible voters (M= 298 & F= 238), 204 cast their votes on the poll day (EVM:161 & Postal Ballot: 43) achieving an overall voter turnout of 38.06%.
Details of the result is available on the Election Commission’s web page: www.ecb.bt. It is also hereby being notified that as per Section 580 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, the member elected shall only serve for the remainder term of the 3rd Local Government.
The public and all stakeholders may note that the Election Petition Period of 10 days for this Bye-Election starts from today and would end at 5 p.m. of August 25, 2024.
