The Election Commission of Bhutan is pleased to inform that the Polls for the BCP (NA & NC) to the 153 Democracy Clubs in the twenty Dzongkhags were successfully conducted yesterday, the 12th of September 2015.
A total of 63 out of the 293 candidates who contested the elections have been elected as the members of the Bhutan Children’s Parliament National Council and National Assembly. Out of these elected, 18 are boys and 2 are girls in the BCP-NC and 27 boys and 16 girls in BCP-NA.
The Election Commission of Bhutan heartily congratulates all the candidates who worked hard and participated whole-heartedly, the BCP members who turned out to vote, and all the officials in the concerned Dzongkhags and schools and the 20 Dzongkhag Election Officials who undertook this initiative with commitment and interest and ensured smooth and successful elections. The Election Commission of Bhutan looks forward to the first sitting of the Bhutan Children’s Parliament which is planned to be held towards the end of December 2105 in the Democracy House, our new Head Office building.
