The Election Commission of Bhutan, as required under Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, is pleased to hereby declare the results of the Polls of the Re-Elections held on 18th of April 2022 in the Local Government Demkhongs where the results of the Third Local Government Elections with polls on 22nd December 2021 were tied.

In Mani Chiwog of Khatoed Gewog under Gasa Dzongkhag, both the candidates secured equal number of votes. Therefore, the Returning Officer invoked Section 464 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008 and the result was decided by Draw of Lots.
The overall Voter Turnout and Registered Voter information is as follows:
- Total Registered Voters = 2468
- Total Number of Votes Cast = 1343
- EVM = 968
- Postal Ballot = 375
- Voter Turnout (%) = 54.41

It is also hereby being notified that as per Section 580 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, the members elected shall only serve for the remainder term of the 3rd Local Government.
The general public is also advised that the Election Petition period starts from today and ends on 3rd of May 2022.
