The Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB), as per the provision enshrined under Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, hereby declares the result of the Bye Election for filling the vacant post to the Local Government.
Tenzin Jamtsho (CID No: 10705004440) hailing from Serkhaphu_Yengkhartshing Chiwog has been successfully elected as the Gup of Dramedtse Gewog under Monggar Dzongkhag with the poll day on November 6, 2024.
The overall voter turnout detail is as follows:
Of the 2722 registered eligible voters (M= 1321 & F= 1401), 1120 cast their votes on the poll day (EVM: 782 & Postal Ballot: 338) achieving an overall voter turnout of 41.15%.
Details of the result is available on the Election Commission’s web page: www.ecb.bt. It is also hereby being notified that as per Section 580 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, the member elected shall only serve for the remainder term of the 3rd Local Government.
The public and all stakeholders may note that the Election Petition Period of 10 days for this Bye-Election starts today and ends at 5 p.m. of November 16, 2024.
