The Election Commission of Bhutan is pleased to hereby declare, as required under Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan 2008, the Results of the Bye-Election to the post of Gup in Phongmed Gewog under Trashigang Dzongkhag and Gewog Tshogde Tshogpa in Pemashong_Samshing Gaden Chiwog of Mendrelgang Gewog under Tsirang Dzongkhag.
The details of the candidates who have been successfully elected as Gup and Gewog Tshogde Tshogpa are as follows:

It is also hereby being notified that as per Section 580 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, the member elected to fill the casual vacancy shall only serve for the remainder term of the 2nd Local Government. The Election Petition period starts from 15th of February 2020 and shall end at 5.00 p.m. on 4th of March 2020.
